UTR Summer Break is a collaboration between Under The Radar, the  leading events operator for the UK 6th form market and Outgoing, the number 1 provider of youth and university travel in the UK and Europe. These 2 companies uphold the highest standards in customer welfare and safety. Our policies are listed below.

Outgoing will provide all event management and operations at the event itself. Outgoing is a highly experienced producer of large scale events and festivals and carries 40,000+ passengers per year. Outgoing operates Summer Break, officially the biggest fully organised student event in Europe with 12,000 students attending each year on the same site as used by UTR Summer Break. This event has an impeccable safety record.

UTR Summer Break has a designated welfare officer, who will be the point of contact for any incident or concern raised both during and after the event. 

UTR Summer Break has appropriate medically trained staff at the event at all times.

 

UTR WELFARE OFFICERS AND THE DESIGNATED OFFICER

All UTR Summer Break welfare staff are fully trained in all safeguarding procedures.

UTR Summer Break welfare staff are in constant contact with both the staff of all venues utilised as well as the local police.

The UTR designated welfare officer has considerable experience dealing with welfare and safeguarding issues.

 

ENTRY TO UTR SUMMER BREAK VENUES

All events that take place at UTR On the Beach will be held in venues where entry is limited exclusively to UTR Summer Break ticket holders.

All Summer Break customers are required to submit certain information. This information is used in the event that contact with a guardian/parent is necessary.

The information required is: 

- Parent/guardian's full name

- Phone number of parent/guardian

- Home address

- Customer's name

- Customer's mobile number

- Customer's school/college

- Customer's email address

This information is input into an on-site database so that all details are easily searchable and readily available throughout and after the event.

Any information would be shared with the statutory authorities such as the police, should this be necessary and formally requested.

 

INCIDENTS DURING UTR SUMMER BREAK

In the unlikely event that an incident occurs at UTR Summer Break, it will be reported to the designated welfare officer immediately.

To minimise the risk of incidents, UTR Summer Break has a rigorous health and safety plan including  the following standard procedures:

The UTR Summer Break welfare staff will patrol the surrounding area where any activity is or has been taking place and remain in radio communication with the security staff to ensure that there is no one loitering around any venues that are used by UTR Summer Break.

The UTR Summer Break welfare staff will be easily recognisable wearing branded high visibility jackets and on hand at all stages of the event (marshalling customers onto the transport, on the holiday park 24hrs a day, at the night time events and at the beach).

 

REFUSAL OF ENTRY

In some cases it will be necessary to refuse entry to specific activities to ticket holders (customers). This is at the discretion of the UTR Summer Break welfare staff.

There will be no refund if UTR Summer Break welfare staff choose not to allow entry to any ticket holder, or if a ticket holder refuses to fulfil or adhere to the Terms & Conditions of entry.

If any ticket holder turns up at an activity intoxicated they will be refused entry. Their condition will be assessed by the onsite medical team and if their condition warrants it they will be detained in the welfare area for their own safety.

Clearly branded UTR representatives are present at all times on the holiday park and also in any venues used at the event to assist holiday goers with any queries or problems.

GENERAL POLICIES

Age restriction is strictly over 18.

Photo ID will be required to prove age.

Illegal substances are not allowed to be brought to UTR Summer Break.

It is a condition of entry that the ticket holder consents to being searched. 

If you arrive at an activity clearly under the influence of alcohol or any illegal substance you will be refused entry and you will not be eligible for any refund.

Any behaviour that requires your removal from an activity will not enable you to a refund.

UTR Summer Break will share any information it has with the police or statutory authorities as appropriate. 

It is the customer's responsibility to arrange transport to and from the event. UTR Summer Break provides transport options that can be booked in advance by the customer.

UTR Summer Break does not accept any responsibility for any items lost or stolen during the event. All customers are advised not to carry or bring any items of value with them to the event. 

UTR On the Beach works closely with the police and local authority and will always respond and act on guidance given.

UTR Summer Break is committed to complying with legislation and working with statutory agencies on matters relating to safeguarding and where UTR Summer Break receives a concern, it will refer the matter to the appropriate statutory agency.
